It all started with Metallica, church and banjo. Put those influences in a blender, and you get Atlanta’s Blood on the Harp, a band that describes its sound as “music about death.” The band, which Spark curated a performance from at Atlanta’s Fintech South conference mixes jazz, Appalachian folk, and good old rock ‘n’ roll to get a sound that frontman Christopher Salmon describes as sounding like “a Southern Gothic novel.”
